Our mandate is to assist, train and support newcomers to attain and retain decent, affordable housing in Winnipeg, regardless of their immigration status or arrival date in Canada. This includes both rental and home ownership. Our trained counselors help each newcomer client to identify their goals and options in regards to housing, and then trains, and assists them through the process of finding and keeping that home. Each new client is encouraged to bring a support person with them to their appointments, in order to help them in this process. This is especially important if they are very new in Winnipeg or have limited English proficiency. Additionally, each client is paired with an established Canadian volunteer to help them, if they desire one.
